Lessons with me are firmly rooted in the principles of Dressage;
training relaxed and forward gaits, responsiveness and balance for the
horse and rider. I combine this with natural horsemanship, communicating
in the language of the horse, for a partnership of confidence and
pleasure.
I take horses and riding very seriously, but I do it with humor and lightness, because horses like happy riders.
I work on a freelance basis, providing lots of options for the
client. You may haul to my facility or I can come to you. Lesson
frequency and duration are up to the rider; we work at a pace suitable
for you and your horse. I work for your goals, whether you want to
improve your basic riding communication skills or move in the
competition world. Riding lessons will challenge you, but not past your
abilities. Timid riders are welcome. Lessons are $35.00 per hour, plus travel out of my local area. Read testimonials...
SLEEP-OVER LESSONS
Horse and rider are welcome for an intensive group of lessons. Your horse is welcome to board here and we will design a lesson package/series of lessons that is just right for you and your partner. If you are interested in something special, lets talk about an individual plan- like a custom mini-clinic.
MUSICAL FREESTYLE
Riding to music, whether for competition, exhibition, or just the fun of it, is a great tool for building forward movement with rythmn and relaxation. I have experience finding appropriate music and designing choreography for dressage riders of any level and costume exhibitions of all sorts, and even in-hand "performance art." I am available for group Riding to Music events, where I d.j. music for mounted participants. I work with individuals, either designing the whole freestyle, or collaborating with you for the perfect piece that suits you and your horse. From time to time, I give half-day clinics where riders try out freestyle music prepared already, learning how to begin on something they create. I cover how to choose music, use of arena, cheorography, and costumes. Your horse will love this!
SHOW PREPARATION
Does competing send you into a state of shock?? Want to have a positive, fun day at a show? This package includes setting a goal, four pre-show lessons to prepare, hauling to the show and coaching there, a fantastic picnic lunch on the show day, and a ride home, cheering accomplishments and setting future goals. You pay entry fees; package cost is $300.00.

BABY BOOT CAMP
Want your horse to get a leg up, outside the world he lives in? Bring him to boot camp at my facility! He will share lunch with llamas, wrestle donkeys, and learn how to adapt to new surroundings. I will give him two short baby-sized ground lessons a day, using natural horsemanship techniques to do groundwork, and on to trailer loading, obstacles and scary grooming techniques. These are experiences designed to make a young horse more comfortable with change and adventure (meaning horse shows). Cost is $200 per week and includes care and training.
BABY TRAINING
I am available to come to your place and work with any size group of babies. We will cover the boot camp activities and any other things you are interested in. By the hour, times negotiable. Guaranteed results, $20 per hour, minimum time requirement.
No job is too small. Ernest is a rescue donkey that I trained to pull a cart and log skid.
I would welcome the opportunity to work with more minis.
